Khaijadi

Khaijadi is a traditional Nepali musical instrument. It is made by stretching leather over a circular wooden frame, resembling a small hand-played drum. Small bells or jingling metal pieces (jhilke) are attached around the rim of the Khaijadi. This instrument is primarily used in folk music, devotional songs (bhajans), and dance performances. The Khaijadi is played by shaking it and tapping the stretched leather with the hand, producing a distinct rhythmic sound. In Nepali culture and rural festivals, the Khaijadi holds significant importance as a musical instrument.
